Invisalign® is an innovative clear aligner system that works to straighten out the teeth in a more subtle style than traditional braces with minimal disruption to your lifestyle. Using a patented SmartTrack material, Invisalign® gradually moves the teeth into a straighter position without others being any the wiser.
The aligners are removable, making it easier for patients to eat and brush their teeth. Practically invisible, the aligners sit over the teeth like a thin shield.
We will invite you to have a consultation with one of our experienced dentists at Bank Chambers Dental Practice. We use our in-house iTero scanner to take digital scans of your mouth. This will create a 3D image of your smile in minutes, allowing you to visualise what your dream smile could look like with Invisalign®.
If Invisalign® is right for you and your smile, we will complete the assessment with you and these scans can be swiftly sent to the experts at Invisalign® so they can make your custom aligners. Your personalised aligners will be shaped and sculpted to your gum line so they’re comfortable to wear.
Once ready, we will provide you with the aligners that you will wear every day. You will usually wear each set for 1-2 weeks before swapping them out for your new set. As they are removable you can eat your usual diet and clean your teeth as normal.
We will be supporting you along the way and recommend you come into the practice every 6-8 weeks, so we can keep an eye on your progress and comfort, and make sure everything is working as it should. At the end of your treatment, we will provide you with a retainer to help maintain your new smile.
To be successful, you must wear your aligners for a minimum of 22 hours a day. The exact length of the treatment journey will be different for each individual patient, but we will be able to give you an idea of this during a consultation.
On average, patients wear Invisalign® for 6-18 months.

Crowded teeth is a condition where you do not have enough room for your teeth to fit normally. This can cause plaque or tartar and other harmful bacteria to build up as it is harder for you to brush and floss well.
Gaps between teeth is when there is extra space between two or more of your teeth. This can cause pockets between your teeth and gums and can cause food to get stuck making them tender and sore. This might also lead to gum disease.
An Open bite is when your upper and lower teeth don't touch when you close your mouth. An open bite can make it hard for you to chew or difficult to bite even the most common of food like apples.
An underbite is when you close your mouth and your lower front teeth are in front of your upper teeth. In many cases, this is actually a problem with your lower jaw being too far forward. An underbite can make it hard to chew properly and speak clearly, and it might cause your teeth to wear down more quickly.
An overbite is when your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth. Most people have at least a little overbite. When your overbite is too large, your doctor might tell you you have a deep bite. This can cause problems, from your teeth wearing down to pain in your jaw.
A crossbite is when you close your mouth and yet some of your upper teeth are sitting inside your lower teeth rather than on the outside. A crossbite can make your teeth wear down or chip. It can also make your gums start to recede or make little notches above your gum line. This kind of damage can lead to painful gum problems or even bone loss.
We can create a 3D image of your teeth in just minutes using an iTero scanner, a leading digital scanner from the makers of Invisalign® clear aligners.
