What is a dental implant?

Dental implants are designed to look and function like a natural tooth and offer a long-term solution to missing teeth. They are formed of a metal screw that is placed into the jawbone, and a prosthetic tooth is then attached to it. At Bank Chambers Dental Practice, we can offer a range of options from a single tooth implant to a full arch restoration.

Why do I need a dental implant?

We’ll always be sure to outline all the options available to you when it comes to replacing a tooth, but replacement of a missing tooth – where possible – is hugely important in the management and promotion of your long-term oral health. Missing teeth can lead to further oral health issues, as well as impact your speech and ability to eat. It can also affect your confidence when smiling and the aesthetic finish of your smile.

What is the treatment process like?

Step 1

We will book you a free consultation with our experienced dentist. They will talk through your options and assess if implants are the right treatment for you. You will usually need an X-ray or CT scan.

Step 2

You’ll first have the implant screw fitted – this will be done under local anaesthetic so you’re completely comfortable throughout.

Step 3

We then need to wait for the area to heal – at this point, we can usually supply you with a temporary tooth for comfort and function.

Step 4

Once the healing is done, we can place your personal prosthetic tooth for you.

Step 5

We will provide you with aftercare support and give you information on how to look after your teeth

I have been with Bank Chambers dental practice for over 10 years now and in that time, they have always been a excellent practice. I have never really struggled to get an appointment that is convenient to me, they are always courteous and understanding of my dental needs and the premises has always been clean and tidy giving a pleasant environment to be. All the staff are wonderful, smart and friendly. My dentist Imran has always been very personable, professional and engaging, he takes time to fully explain things and I trust his advice, judgment and treatment. After leaving another very unreliable NHS dentist in Buckingham, we went to Bank Chambers. They have been reliable, never cancelled on us and pretty much run on time. My Dentist is lovely and so far has never caused me pain. Always gives great advice. My husband is also receiving private treatment from a Dentist at Bank Chambers. He is more than happy with the results that are already showing, can't wait to see the finished result.
